In June 2024, Avalanche Vapes launched HubBox through a funded licence via DPD. One year later, they’ve renewed directly – with stronger delivery performance, happier customers and growing pickup adoption to show for it.
Challenges
Before HubBox, missed deliveries were becoming a growing problem. Redelivery costs were rising, parcels were occasionally going missing and tracking issues were putting pressure on the support team.
Avalanche Vapes needed a smarter way to give customers more control and keep delivery costs in check. They also wanted to include their own store as a pickup point, and required real-time integration with DPD’s network of pickup points.

HubBox managed the integration end-to-end, working directly with the Avalanche Vapes team to get ‘click & collect’ live with minimal effort required. Within days, pickup at checkout was enabled, with thousands of DPD pickup points available nationwide – plus their own store included as an option.
Once the software was live, HubBox suggested a series of UI tweaks to increase uptake, based on proven user research. The changes had an immediate positive impact.

Results
Today, around 1 in 10 customers choose to collect their orders – helping Avalanche Vapes reduce missed deliveries and boosting customer satisfaction.
Lost parcels are down, support queries have dropped and far fewer deliveries end up in the wrong place or with neighbours. With more orders going to pickup points, average delivery costs are falling too – unlocking long-term savings for the business.
